Suspects Who Defrauded Insurance Company Sent to Court

79 suspects, who were detained in the operation carried out against the criminal organization that was determined to have obtained unfair compensation from 17 insurance companies for fake traffic accidents in 7 provinces based in Adana, were sent to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station.

Under the coordination of the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Fraud Bureau teams affiliated with the Public Order Branch Directorate of the Provincial Police Department launched an investigation against the criminal organization that obtained unfair compensation from 17 insurance companies over 76 fictional traffic accidents between 2022 and 2026. During the investigations, it was determined that the suspects presented the damaged vehicles as if they were involved in a new accident, used the same vehicles again with different drivers, and prepared false accident reports.

As a result of MASAK investigations, HTS records, physical tracking and camera footage evaluation, it was determined that the suspects acted in a planned manner, from providing vehicles to preparing damage files, from receiving insurance payments to distributing them. Money movement worth millions of liras was detected in accounts linked to the suspects.

On October 20, judicial proceedings were initiated against 88 suspects in a simultaneous operation carried out in Adana-based Kayseri, Kahramanmaraş, Konya, Çankırı, Kastamonu and Kocaeli. While 77 suspects were detained during the operation, it was determined that 1 suspect was in prison. 88 people for whom arrest warrants were issued were also caught.

After their statement at the police station, 8 people were released and 79 suspects were sent to the courthouse.
