The excitement for the Eastern Express begins: Tickets on sale tomorrow
The 2026-2027 season for the Tourist Eastern Express will commence on December 21. A total of 70 trips are scheduled along the Ankara-Kars and Kars-Ankara routes, with individual tickets going on sale tomorrow at 13:55.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a statement regarding the 2026-2027 season of the Tourist Eastern Express.
Noting that the Tourist Eastern Express will continue to welcome passengers in the new season, Uraloğlu stated, “For the 2026-2027 winter season, the Tourist Eastern Express will operate a total of 70 trips—35 in each direction. Trips from Ankara to Kars will take place between December 21, 2026, and March 10, 2027, while trips from Kars to Ankara will run from December 23, 2026, to March 12, 2027.”
“Ticket sales begin tomorrow at 13:55”
Providing details on the schedule, Uraloğlu said, “Trains from Ankara to Kars will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while those from Kars to Ankara will depart on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The final trip from Ankara to Kars will take place on March 10, 2027, and the final trip from Kars to Ankara will be on March 12, 2027.” Providing information regarding ticket sales, Uraloğlu stated, “We will begin ticket sales for individual passengers tomorrow at 13:55. Tickets can be purchased through TCDD Transportation sales channels.”
“We will make stops for sightseeing purposes”
Noting that the Tourist Eastern Express offers passengers the chance to explore cities along the route through its sightseeing stops, Uraloğlu said, “We will make stops for sightseeing at the Erzincan and Erzurum stations on the Ankara–Kars route, and at the İliç, Divriği, and Sivas stations on the Kars–Ankara route. In addition to the train journey itself, our passengers will have the opportunity to experience the historical and cultural treasures of Anatolia firsthand.”
